About the Training:


We invite you to join Arnold Stroobach Managing Director of Buurtzorg Australia and Neighbourhood Care as he takes us through the Buurtzorg’s values, principles and beliefs that have redefined patient care, and that can be applied in many organisations and industries. You will also learn about Buurtzorg’s approaches to self-management and Independence

This course is tailored for professionals already utilizing customer-centric approaches in their organizations and for those wishing to make this a part of the fabric of their company.

Morning Session

Buurtzorg Principles and way of working:
An overview what the Buurtzorg way of working, comprising of:

  • The philosophy, the principles and pillars of Buurtzorg

  • The various operational aspects (eg. self-managed teams) and

  • What Buurtzorg looks like in real life, including the experiences in Australia.

Goals: By the end of this workshop, you should be able to: Understand the philosophy of the Buurtzorg model, Understand the Eight Buurtzorg Pillars of the philosophy, Understand the right conditions for organisational and leadership culture, Describe the importance of Trust in the successful implementation of the Buurtzorg model and Explain the importance of team autonomy in the delivery of superior service to clients.

Afternoon Session

Self-management and Independence:
Gain a greater understanding of why self-management is a means and not an end in itself and what the consequences of self-management are for participating groups.

We will also introduce the concepts of the Solution Driven Method of Interaction (SDMI).

Goals: Learn how to create a sustainable model of self-management with the inclusion of personal and team development planning.

Approach

A combination of Interactive workshops and lessons from an experienced practitioner.

The day consists of a morning and afternoon session and includes lunch, morning and afternoon tea.

About the Trainer

Arnold Stroobach - Perth Australia

Managing Director of Neighborhood Care and Buurtzorg Australi as well as co-founder of Genomic Therapeutics PL.

Arnold has over 30 years of experience in business and non-profit organisations, is multilingual and has an international focus. Since 1997 he has been active at board level (COO and CEO) in Europe (the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany), the US (Boston, Massachusetts) and in Australia (WA, QLD, NSW and VIC). He is an experienced leader, strategist and speaker and has a great passion for start-up companies and growth strategies. When he migrated to Australia in 2005, he became CEO of the Technology Parks in Perth and Brisbane. Later he was a founding member and Chairman of the successful collaborative innovation agency Spacecubed in Perth. From 2008 to 2018, Arnold was the Honorary Consul of the Netherlands to WA, representing the Netherlands and actively supporting the economic development, cooperation between universities and the mutual cultural heritage of both countries. In 2018, he introduced Buurtzorg to Australia, a pioneering care organisation founded in 2007 in the Netherlands with a nurse-led model of holistic care that revolutionised community care. Buurtzorg in Australia offers advisory services regarding the Buurtzorg way of working and has also a care provider called Neighbourhood Care.
